Wonderful Pictures - proud moments for Sikhs around the world, for Sikh Canadians in particular. Best wishes to all Sikh Olympians and to the Canadian Olympic team. They make us all so proud.

Singh is King. Wherever a Sikh goes, with the grace of Waheguru, he will triumph!

3: Sandeep (India), August 10, 2008, 4:29 AM.

It would have been even a more proud moment if we could have seen the Indian Olympic team, with its Sikhs wearing turban. Proud to be an Indian Sikh!

4: Gurinder Pal Singh Khalsa (India), August 10, 2008, 8:03 AM.

All the best, my dear veero! We are proud of you ... jithe jaan Punjabi, uthe vakhra Punjab banaa dinde! So, veero, we hope to see you shine as Khalsa one day, proud of your Sikhi! We are grateful to anybody who inspired you to present yourself in dastaars! Jiyunde vasde raho, Rab rakha! Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki fateh.

Well done! A proud moment for the Sikh community the world over. We hope and pray that the Sikh Olympians from India in Beijing 2008 will have seen what we have, and look within themselves. May Waheguru grant them wisdom.

First, I would like to congratulate the Sikh-Canadians for their presence at the Olympic Games, since they were the only Sikhs visible in the parade through-out the opening ceremonies of the Olympics 2008. I thoroughly enjoyed it when they did their bhangra hop (true Punjabi). It was a noble idea for the Sikh-Canadians to present themselves by wearing a dastaar at the games, and presenting the identity of Sikhs. I wish my brothers had gone all the way and really showed the world what a "puran" Sikh is. Forgive me for saying this; as always, we continue to try, on one hand to prove our identity and, on the other to obliterate the whole idea. It certainly doesn't help when our "motherland" is producing movies that are showing Sikhs in a negative image, and denying us our true identity and the correct values of Sikhi. Hopefully, the Spinning Wheel movement will turn some amateur movie makers into big time movie makers in the west, who by using real Singhs and Singhnees, will convey the true message in the movies for our future youth. May all Singhs be Kings.

Thank you, sikhchic.com, for putting up these pictures. It's great to see Sikhs, whether from Canada or other countries, represented in the games.

Amazing to see my cousin with his Canadian co-athletes wearing the distaar. Whoever came up with this idea was just great. To show the world who we are and what we live for. Not only Canada was impressed but the whole wide world. Chardi Kalaa vich rahiye! Akhir, assi putt sardaraan de! Bruaaaahh! To all the five who wore the distaars this, is my big Thank You to you: SINGH IS KING! SINGH IS KING!! SINGH IS KING!!! SINGH IS KING!!!! SINGH IS KING!!!!!
