A Meditation

INNI KAUR

Today’s Hukam, Darbar Sahib, Amritsar – Monday, August 5, 2013

People try to deceive others, but the inner-knower, the searcher of hearts, knows everything.
They commit sins, and then deny them, while they pretend to be in nirvana
. || 1 ||

They believe that You are far away, but You are near at hand.
Looking around, this way and that, the greedy come and go
.  ||  Pause  ||

As long as the doubts of the mind are not removed, liberation is not found.
Says Nanak, he alone is a Saint, a devotee, and a humble servant of the Divine, to whom the Divine is merciful

[Guru Arjan, Raag Dhanasari, GGS: 680]

In today’s Hukam, the Guru’s voice is crystal clear:

Our clever tricks, deceptions, saintly attire may dupe the world.

But know that the One sees all.

All we do is hoodwink ourselves.

Look within.

Search within.

Correct this flaw.

Walk the teachings.

Live in hukam.

For

When the wall of falsehood breaks

True liberation materializes.

My ardaas:

Grace me with Thy constant presence.

On GGS:102, Guru Arjan says: "sabh kichh ghar meh baahar naahee / baahar tolai so bharam bhulaahi". That is, "Everything is within us, nothing outside. Those who seek Him outside only wander in illusion." Waheguru is self-realizable and resides in the soul of every person and therefore we must search for Him within.

Thank you, Inni Kaur. This is beautiful.
