Trump Campaign’s Ignorance Has No Bounds

KEVIN RADER

Fishers, Indiana, USA

A Fishers resident who is not a Trump supporter found his picture on a Trump mailer.

And that's not all.

The mailer also portrays Sikh-American Gurinder Singh Khalsa as Muslim - and that's wrong, too.

Gurinder has a tough job. An American citizen who immigrated from Punjab, he started his own political action committee, called "Sikhs PAC." It is designed to help Americans understand the differences between his Sikh religion and others from around the world.

"I want to be judged by how valuable a citizen I am to this great nation," Gurinder Singh said.

So imagine the surprise for the Fishers resident when a friend from California alerted him to a Trump mailer describing him as a Muslim Trump supporter.

"I am not Muslim and I am not supporting Trump," he continued.

And now he is hoping this will not lead to more misplaced violence against Sikhs.

"He is putting my picture, saying Muslims support him and I have nothing to do with it. I don't support Trump. Nobody even asked me to put that picture there. It was shocking, disturbing and this will create more confusion among people because they are sending it nationwide," Gurinder explained.

He says he saw the mailer on the Huffington Post website. Now, he knows his job is going to be much more difficult than he imagined. He knew he had to work to educate the general public, but "now we have to work hard to get national level politicians and the presidential candidate, he does not know the difference between Muslims and Sikhs and that is most disturbing."

Eyewitness News helped Gurinder Singh get in touch with the Trump campaign which informed us they regret any confusion and are looking to rectify the problem.

And his stupidity too knows no bounds. It's disheartening to see a presidential candidate who cannot string a few words together to form a coherent sentence, as if English was a foreign language to him. No wonder 'Drumhf' - his real family name -- has all his surrogates running around, trying to explain what was meant by what just came out of his mouth.
