Fruit Kebabs

by KAMAL KAUR

Here in Kenya we are blessed with an amazing array of fresh fruits. Making these lovely fruit kebabs is one way to get finicky kids to take in their daily quota of fruits. They're also great on a birthday party menu. Kids expect a proper presentation of foods and these kebabs actually are very appealing to the eye and the palette. Feel free to experiment with all types of fruits and do involve the kids when making them. They'll really enjoy it.

You will need:

  • Lots of bamboo or plastic skewers
  • Tangerines
  • Apples,
  • Bananas
  • Kiwis
  • Marshmallows
  • Strawberries
  • Oranges (cut in cubes)
  • Mangos
  • Papaya
  • Pineapple-fresh or canned (chunks)
  • Watermelon (cubes or balls)
  • Honeydew melon
  • Apricots - fresh or canned (cut in half - pit removed)

Method:

  • Take empty fruit skewer and have kids add marshmallow to bottom
  • Stack the different cubed and cut fruits onto the skewer
  • Refrigerate until ready to eat, great healthy summer fruit snack

ENJOY! :-)
