Sikh Publishing House Proposed

DAVID BITTON

Members of a committee that oversees Sikh places of worship are expected to travel from Punjab to Yuba City, California, USA, at the end of the month to discuss building a proposed international Sikh community center and publishing house on Tierra Buena Road, Yuba City.

Board members from the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee ("SGPC") will meet with local Sikh-Americans to discuss everything from design, size and use of the structure.

The 13-acre site north of Butte House Road was donated by Didar Singh Bains, a peach farmer, and his wife, Santi Kaur.

"I am interested in getting the Guru Granth Sahib printed here," Didar Singh said.

It was also recently reported that the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee ("DSGMC") is planning to set up printing presses in Europe and Canada to print copies of the holy scripture.

The DSGMC made the decision after receiving complaints of desecration during the process of transporting copies of it to different parts of the diaspora.

Karm Singh, Didar Singh's son, said having the holy scripture printed locally would allow for proper handling.

Didar Singh understands getting the community center and publishing house built will be a long process that will require a great deal of fundraising, but he is committed to the project and has helped in establishing Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee USA Inc.

Possible uses beyond a place of worship include a school, a library, and a place for classes, seminars, community events and possible sporting events in a gym.

Karm Singh is excited for the meeting and said the SGPC representatives seem eager to get things moving in the right direction.

"It is something that is really needed," he said. "It is going to be a great asset."

Sikhs may need more printing presses to spread the message of Guru Granth Sahib, but they need to be careful of the meddling by inept, corrupt and cowardly minions who run the SGPC which itself has printed grossly inaccurate history books and demeaned Sikh Gurus on the orders of their RSS masters. They have already destroyed the precious Sikh original heritage sites and converted them into gold and marble mausoleums. The latest example is the the so-called entrance plaza which has been built at the directions of the collaborator in chief, Parkash Badal and his son Sukhbir. This monstrosity will completely destroy the original architectural heritage and surroundings of of Golden Temple and leave a big eye sore. Beside this, these SGPC minions are constructing a "VIP" lounge which is absolutely against the concept of equality so firmly enshrined in Sikhi. These SGPC minions have already raised a goonda force also known as the "task force" which discriminates against ordinary Sikhs and gives special passage to the sanctum sanctorum for Badal and family when they visit Harmandar Sahib. I request Sikh organizations to come forward and stop its construction forthwith and in fact take steps to undo this horrendous crime against Sikhism's prime heritage site.
