Fascinating history of the region, very well presented and summarized. Thank you, Sarbpreet ji, for your meticulous and authoritative analyses and also your conclusion with Guru Gobind Singh Ji's verse. The turmoil in the region continues -- if only the warring parties could realize the futility in fighting to control and conquer this region. The invaders, British, then the Russians, and now the US, need to re-asses their world vision and help re-establish a Sikh secular state as a buffer between nuclear-capable and fanatic Hindu and Islamic states as well as China and Russia. A sub-continent modeled similar to the European Union looks like a logical solution.
