INNI KAUR

Today’s Hukam, Darbar Sahib, Amritsar – Tuesday, October 22, 2013

Blessed is that soul-bride who realizes her Husband-Divine. She obeys hukam, and abandons her self-conceit. Imbued with her Beloved, she celebrates in delight. ||1||

Listen, O my companions - these are the signs on the path to meet Husband-Divine. Dedicate your mind and body; stop living to please others. ||1|| Pause ||

One soul-bride counsels another to do only that which pleases your Husband-Divine. Such a soul-bride merges with her Husband-Divine. ||2||

One who is in the grip of pride does not obtain the mansion of the Divine’s presence. She regrets and repents when her life-night passes away. The unfortunate self-willed manmukhs suffer in pain. ||3||

I pray, but I think You are far away. The Eternal One is imperishable and eternal; pervading and permeating everywhere. Servant Nanak sings Your glorious praises; and sees You ever-present everywhere. ||4||3||

[Guru Arjan, Raag Suhi, GGS: 737]

I received an email from a dear friend. He writes: “Just felt compelled to share today’s hukam.

“Girl-friends (human-beings), listen to the way to meet/connect with the Divine:  eliminate being driven by popular-notions (pleasing others), dedicate your mind and body to Ik Oankar (Oneness).” (Pause for reflection)

I pause …

I reflect …

Last week was a whirlwind. I was pulled in many directions. With great difficulty, I was able to center myself. Calmness prevailed.

Woke up to this beautiful hukam!

Guru is so kind, so very merciful to me. I needed to hear this on so many levels. I am in awe of Guru. I want to rejoice. I want to share my love for Guru.

Yes! I am a bit crazy – but the ones in love are. What can I say?

Listen, my beautiful friends, to what Guru says:

“Blessed is the one who understands, who recognizes, who sees, who experiences that her True Self, her True identity is Ik Oankar (Oneness).”

That the tiny light within her; is part of the One eternal light. That she is just a drop of that endless ocean. Her true purpose is to merge back into that endless ocean.

Accept hukam.

Eradicate ego.

The veil of separation will be lifted.

Soaked in true love, you will forever enjoy the highest pleasures, the highest delights, and the never ending pleasure of bliss - complete inner and outer peace.

Marks of those who walk this path?

They surrender their mind and body to seva. They care not what the world says about them. They pay no attention to the voices that stand against their faith, their belief, and their love for Guru. Reflect! (I so needed to hear this.)

The one who follows Guru merges into that endless ocean. The one who is still under the influence of ego cannot understand that she is just a drop of an ocean. When the Call of Death comes, she regrets and cries out: why didn't I follow what the Guru said? Why didn't I meditate? Why didn't I love humanity? I thought You were far away.

She forgot that the One Eternal pervades through all.

“Says Nanak, I see my Beloved ever-present in all places at all times and I sing Your praises.”

My ardaas: Strengthen me to stay on Your path and write Your glorious stories!

GGS:878: "The drop of water is in the sea and sea is in the drop ..." Who can fathom which is which? Only the one who has a sublime vision can discern the phenomena of the reality. God is present in all, from the lowest to the highest, and the way to reach Him is through the human soul. The person will turn to be divine only if he/she continues to ignite the soul.
