Man Who Led 1984's Criminal Attack on Darbar Sahib Stabbed in London
NEWS REPORT
Lt General (Retd) K S Brar, who led Indira Gandhi's 1984 criminal assault on the Darbar Sahib in Amritsar, was attacked and injured in London, England.
78-year-old Brar, a Z-category protectee, was stabbed by
four men outside a hotel in London, sources said, adding the former Indian army
man received injuries and was taken to hospital.
Z-category protection is a designation given to, inter alia, those within the Indian government who have committed serious crimes against the citizenry, have managed to escape accountability, but being afraid of citizen-led justice, seek and are given high level protection by the state, which includes personal body-guard, escort car, etc.
Accused of incompetence on his part, the Military attache in the Indian High Commission in London has rushed to check on the injured Indian army officer who is widely derided for having slavishly carried out Mrs. Gandhi's orders.
The incident in London took place on Sunday evening (September 30, 2012) on Old Quebec Street near Hyde Park when he was out with his wife. The couple are in London on a private visit.
No arrests have been made so far.
A Yard spokesman said: "Officers and LAS attended the scene and discovered a man, aged in his 70s, suffering from an injury believed caused by a knife".
He added: "The man has been taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition - his injuries are not believed to be life threatening".
Sources said external affairs minister SM Krishna, who is in New York, called up the Indian High Commissioner J Bhagwati to know about the condition of this latest casualty on a long list of 1984 criminals employed by the Indian state, who are now being sought out by law-abiding citizens in order to bring them to justice.

Here's some advice for Mr Brar and his buddies. They should stay in their government-guarded bunkers and not venture out. The world is not a safe place for mass-murderers. I know it is hell to have to slink away in a hole all your life, but Sikhi teaches us, hell is here on earth for the deserving ... you don't have to wait for the hereafter. So, stay safe, stay in your hell-hole, and live long, Mr Brar!

Thank the good lord that he is still alive. May the man live another 50 years. They should upgrade his security to Double Z; if there isn't such a category, they should create one. Keep him alive, please - for he has a long date in his hell on earth, before he moves on to the next pit.

No man or woman who has attacked our holiest shrine has ever escaped the swift hand of justice. Yes, I know what many are thinking: that citizens should not take justice into their own hands, no matter how grievous the crime. But when the law of the land fails to deliver justice and in fact openly flaunts it, these kinds of actions are the only recourse available to the Indian populace which has been victimized. I don't advocate such actions, but I believe this is what is beginning to happen in India.

Why are we wasting ink on this God-forsaken man? He will get his just desserts, and so will each of the 1984 crew, all who in their different ways, did their bit around the world. But let God dole out the justice ... our community has our plate full with other things to do. Hope the Sikhs in India will not get caught in a cycle of avenging these criminals.

Was this a real attack or is it a ruse to start harassing Sikhs in Punjab and India again? The alleged attack raises so many questions. 1) Why was this person who has Z security alone in England? 2) Why was a security team was not sent with him? 3) Was the attack merely to drum up negative news against Sikh activists? We need to remember that the rascals in India are the same who conspired to bring down the Air India flight in 1985 and then blamed it on Sikhs.

We should view this with caution. If this had been an attack by four Sikh men I doubt whether he would have survived. He is after all 80 years old. I suspect this is an attempt to destroy the credibility of the Sikhs in the UK. From my understanding the issue of the kirpan is being discussed in the UK and nothing is beneath the Indians, so I would not be surprised that he would agree to such an act. His life and actions show him to be at the lower end of the evolutionary scale.

To some this act of 'revenge' on someone who killed many innocents, besides the so-called 'militants', may have been cause for celebration. Yet this exposes once again how disunited and broken we are as a nation that we can't on a global level deal with problems when they come, like the 1984 massacres. To behave and react like a nation, there is no pressing need to have Khalistan as that would result in many deaths. But at least we can set up a World Parliament that is representative of the best minds.

Well, I strongly feel that this act is NOT done by Sikhs. This is a setup created by the Indian government because recently Sikhs in the West have been increasingly recongized as hard working, humble, progressive, forward looking and positive nation builders. The Brahminical elements in the Indian government are doing their best to tarnish the image of Sikhs and create a false picture.

We should exercise caution while viewing this incident, although we all wish only hell for this guy! As rightly commented earlier, I doubt it very much that he would have survived had he been attacked by Sikhs out to delve justice on this criminal; that too, 4 of them! Seen from a broader perspective, this might be yet another set-up by the Government of India to once again malign the Sikh diaspora. If the 1985 Air India bombing can be planned so meticulously by the twisted Indians and blamed on the Sikhs - anything is possible! In any case, may this guy live for another 200 years and experience living hell every single moment of his life.

I agree with M. Sodhi's comments. Had some Sikhs attacked Brar, he would have been left behind ready to face his maker, but this attack was clearly done under the aegis of Indian Government operatives for the reasons already spelled out here. Contrary to popular idiom, there is no honour amongst thieves ... and Brar has learnt that, now that he is of no other use to his employers.

This is a staged drama by the Indian government and it agency, which appropriately goes by the acronym, RAW. These agencies have been hell bent on 'highlighting' so called Sikh extremism in the west. The Air India bombing, the Indian Embassy attacks, and now this latest concoction. Think about it - how does a 'Z-plus' protection category General move around London's streets with no protection? I don't buy this story. The Indians are gearing up for some new mischief, especially after all the press we got post-Wisconsin shootings.

On further reflection I believe this scenario was put in place (with the full co-operation of Brar) to create opposition to the 1984 memorial that is being suggested by Sikhs at Harmandar Sahib in honour of the innocent victims of Indira Gandhi's and Brar's crimes.

When you look at him and hear him speak, Brar really cuts a pathetic figure. How ironic that the man he despised and set out to butcher, along with innocent victims, was also named "Brar" and will be honoured, remembered and loved (especially by the Sikh youth) into posterity, and here is Kuldip Brar, a man rejected and despised by his own people, trying desperately to gain some accolades from his Hindu masters and realizing full well that no matter what, they will always treat him as an outsider. Death attempts aside, he must be a really sad, tormented old man to want to stoop to this level at his age, and the idea of a 1984 memorial must be poison to him. How sad! You have our 'sympathies', Brar, for a life lived without dignity, without conscience and without self-respect.

Bravo, Sikhs. Look at the comments. How many of us will they fight with, are they blind not to see this? They definitely have increased their attacks in recent months ... e.g., Rajoana, Bittu, Barapind, diaspora Sikhs visiting India being imprisoned randomly, orgs like SOPW blocked from doing excellent work, RSS (Hindu fundamentalist group) attacks through Dasam Granth, etc., etc. Sikhs are brave enough to come out of all this strong. Bravo!

The Indian Government is out again to do mischief through false propaganda against the worldwide Sikh community. The real motive of this allegation which appears very dubious is to sabotage the impending Sikh case in the British parliament for which over 100,000 signatures have been gathered and which is about to be heard at the next opening, regarding the atrocities commited by the Indian state against the Sikhs. It was probably a self-inflicted wound to claim some compensation and notoriety. Anyone that lives in London knows that they do not walk up Oxford Street that late at night without attracting some thing undesireble. Especially two decrepit desis! Anyone local to London knows that the slightest hint of an incident in the City areas results in an instant cordoning-off of the area, which incidentally has one of the highest numbers of surveillance cameras in Western Europe, not to mention private CCTVs. So we hope that the Metropolitan Police will have access the evidence to get to the heart of the matter. At this time, they are reporting no arrests although inquiries continue. They have NOT said that any Sikhs were involved, but the Indian press is running wild in associating it with Sikhs! It is remarkable to think that in this day and age, this news story is being published by both the Indian press, the bewildering Sikh TV stations, and now the BBC, with most of the news articles leading on the fact that General Brar has long been a 'target' for 'Sikh extremists'. We, like fools, are falling for the Indian tricks and taking the issue as balm on our wounds. I believe that only one of the following three scenarios could've taken place: 1) Aan arranged incident to self inflict injury and gain notoriety! And manipulate the continuation of the Z-protection privilege. 2) It was a random opportunistic crime to rob, but perhaps they then got scared, felt the jitters and fled. 3) Imagine the anger of Sikhs against this man; four Sikhs attack him, with intent, would have ensured their was job done properly! If we go for scene three, four Sikhs vs an almost 80-year old man! It certainly does not say much about the alleged assailants. And gullible Sikhs are hurrying forward to own up that indeed Sikhs have done it! Let's all beware of anything that emanates from the Indian media!

Indian government is talking about the revival of militancy in the Punjab. It is all over the Indian media. Now this incident. It is just to malign the Sikhs before the general elections and ensure Hindu votes. It will not be surprising some gurdwara will be raided now to "flush out terrorists". Sikhs should be well prepared to counter the anti-Sikh propaganda and not believe the politicians, Sikh or otherwise.

I am interested to see how the story folds - if ever the truth will come out. Someone definitely needs to ask for the forensic analysis of the wound from Scotland Yard to find out if there was indeed a wound, if it was self-inflicted, and consistent with four assailants, etc.

I think the attack was totally fabricated. Four strongly built armed men, versus a 78 year old victim (?). He escaped with minor injury. They are making a fool out of Indians just to divert attention and garner sympathy votes in the coming state elections. They play the communal card over and over again and divert attention by defaming and maligning Sikhs.

It seems rigged. However, I read today that 15 people have been arrested including 2 women. I find it weird if those 4 had really wanted to kill him they didn't take a gun. Uddham Singh managed that even in 1940 when there weren't even that many Indians around in Britain, no doubt. I can't believe that if four Sikhs really wanted to bring him to justice, and had access to him, they would have failed. I saw a picture of Brar and one of his two wounds seems to be a mere scratch covered up with a bit of tape, like masking tape. It is worthy of note the lengths to which Indian agents will go to, in order to create mischief outside of India. It is not surprising though, after the worldwide coverage of the Wisconsin massacre, Balpreet Kaur's graceful response and Rowling's positice depiction of a Sikh family, something like this was bound to happen. Today, Krishna and four other high profile Indian politicians and chamchas went to the gurdwara where the shootings occurred. Krishna was given a siropa. I guess the Sikhs there don't know the lies he has been telling about rising Sikh extremism in Canada. He said all of India was mourning the Sikhs who were shot. What nonsense.

Can anyone throw some light on the memorial which is being built? ... What is the community's view on that? What is our stand? The media has started drumming up the spectre of Khalistan ... What is our stand? I don't know much but I was listening to a debate on television, and our so-called leaders couldn't take a stand. They talk both sides. Is there a place where we can go and find out what we stand for or will we always let people take advantage because we could not take a stand? I agree the stabbing could have a political angle, but the questions that are arising from this ... Is there something we should know or should talk about? They are saying Punjab is full of terrorists and it is increasing day by day, that a memorial is being built for the assassins of Gen Vaidya. This all is sounding so damn ridiculous ... And NO ANSWERS! Please check out how we as a community are being corned in the media!
