Interfaith: Sona Simran Kaur Rai Weds Justin Matthew Collins
Sona Simran Kaur Rai and Justin Matthew Collins were married Saturday, February 19, 2011, at the Gurdwara in Bridgewater, New Jersey, U.S.A.
Bhai Bachittar Singh performed the Anand Karaj wedding ceremony.
The bride, 27, is keeping her name. She is the senior media relations officer for the Columbia Business School and is pursuing a Master's in Public Policy and Administration at Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs. She graduated cum laude from the University of Rochester.
She is the daughter of Daljit Kaur Rai and Surinder Singh Rai of Nazareth, Pa. Her father is a marketing director at the Allentown, Pa., office of LSI Corporation, which makes semiconductors.
The bridegroom, 27, is a legal fellow with the New York law firm, Proskauer Rose, doing pro bono research in the offices of a client of the firm. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and received a law degree from Brooklyn Law School.
He is a son of Naomi Cooperman and Richard Collins of Teaneck, N.J. His mother is the director of curriculum and instruction at Teaching Matters, a nonprofit organization in New York that instructs public school teachers on how to use technology. His father retired as a math teacher at East Brook Middle School in Paramus, N.J.
